The summer vacations will soon be over, and with them the eternal wait in the vacation traffic jam. The longest lines of cars are always on the weekends after the start of the vacations - in the car, the annoyed parents who like to keep their whining children quiet in the back seat with cell phones, tablets and the like. During this time slot, Rod launched a cross-cantonal radio campaign for Swisscom to talk to families about digital media education - and recorded a free song with the Schwiizergoofe in advance.

This topic is a major concern for most families in our country. How much time should my kids spend on their cell phones or tablets? What kind of content do they actually consume there? What about my own media consumption and what kind of role model am I to my children if they see me on the screen all the time? During the summer vacations - especially at the beginning, when cars are jammed for hours at the Gotthard north portal - this topic is highly topical.

Michael In Albon, Swisscom's Youth Media Protection Officer, discussed media literacy on numerous radio stations on precisely these days. Without pointing fingers, but with lots of valuable tips and curious stories from his everyday work. In order to be able to reach the people in the car at all, numerous radios worked together over three weekends, which played the individual cantons in time for the respective start of the vacations. In this way, around 1.5 million listeners could be reached - and precisely at the time when the topic is of immediate importance to them.

To create an entertaining and disarming introduction to the topic, the successful children's combo Schwiizergoofe recorded a free song on the subject. In "Nume no füf Minute," the kids turn the tables on their parents' cell phone and tablet use and advocate a conscious approach to digital media. Young and old alike are likely to recognize themselves in it and question their own everyday media lives. The catchy song from HitMill is available for free download on the Medienstark page - including a sing-along version and a small making-of video. In addition, the song will be on the new Schwiizergoofe album, which will be released on September 28.

The topic of media literacy is a central cornerstone for Swisscom in its long-standing commitment to sustainability.
