Andreas Schaffner becomes deputy editor-in-chief of CNN Money Switzerland

CNN Money Switzerland announces the appointment of Andreas Schaffner, previously a senior producer, as deputy editor-in-chief. In his new role, he will assume responsibility for the editorial office in Zurich.

As a result, the editorial team will now consist of three members. Editor-in-Chief Urs Gredig will focus more on the strategic development of content and long-term planning and development of the brand in the Swiss media landscape.

Deputy Editor-in-Chief Frédéric Lelièvre will focus on the further development of CNN Money Switzerland in French-speaking Switzerland with the new studio in Gland.

Andreas Schaffner has been dealing with economic topics and the Swiss economy for almost 20 years. He worked as a reporter as well as in leading positions for the weekly newspaper Cash, Swiss Television (SRF), View and Aargauer Zeitung/Schweiz am Wochenende. At SRF, he was part of the team that launched the business program "Eco" and produced several documentaries, such as "Wir kaufen uns die Welt" about commodity trading in Switzerland.

In 2009, he received an award for reporting on the financial crisis in a special report for "Eco," which focused on the LTCM hedge fund and its legacy ten years later. Andreas Schaffner grew up in Venezuela and Hong Kong and studied law at the University of Basel and completed postgraduate studies in journalism at the MAZ in Lucerne.
