Stuck on the paywall

Um... that's what can happen when you only read the headlines online: You know a little bit, but that's about it.

Anyone who frequently studies reader comments on popular online portals will notice that many people don't even read the articles. Many people don't even read the lead. Instead, they go straight to commenting after the title to give free rein to their anger, indignation or joy. For example, they then demand things that - as explained later in the article - are no longer necessary. Or they get upset about things that are not the case at all. Titles are not there to fully inform people, but to make them curious about the article.

Even worse if you don't even have the opportunity to read the corresponding article. Because the newspaper has put up a paywall. And of course you don't want to pay anything - that would be fine. Not so long ago, it was completely normal to pay for the newspaper you read. Mercado McCann in Argentina reminds us of this for Perfil. It's easier to tell a story if you know the story. Good information is valuable - and valuable information costs money. (hae)
