SwissMediaPartners and Kim Locher: Leadership Trio for the Next Phase of Growth

SwissMediaPartners AG, together with deliver.media, is expanding its executive team: Kim Locher is taking over as Chief Operating Officer (COO) with immediate effect, assuming operational leadership of both companies. This move comes as the company celebrates its 25th anniversary and, according to a press release, is intended to usher in the next phase of growth. SwissMediaPartners’ Kim Locher thus completes a leadership trio in which all three members operate with clearly defined areas of focus.

The driving forces behind the new organizational structure are growing demand from customers and partners, as well as the expansion of deliver.media’s cloud-based products into new—including international—markets. With Locher taking over operational management, the two founders gain the necessary breathing room: CEO Michael Buholzer will focus more closely on partners, consulting, and strategic projects, as well as on business development for new products and markets. CTO Mathieu Habegger will concentrate on product development and leading the expanded development team. According to the press release, operations at the Fribourg location will continue without interruption.

From the Utz Group to SwissMediaPartners

Kim Locher joined SwissMediaPartners in February 2026 as an End-to-End Business Process Manager. Prior to that, she spent several years at the Utz Group overseeing global supply chain and procurement processes, with a focus on change management and process optimization. She holds a dual master’s degree in Business Informatics from the FHNW and in Computer Science from the Università di Camerino, and has been actively involved in various initiatives, including serving as Lead Organizer of TEDxFHNW.

The company believes that her experience in an environment where software is not the main product brings a valuable perspective to a technology company. CTO Mathieu Habegger commented on the decision as follows: «With Kim on board, I can focus more on product development and our growing team. Operational responsibility in Fribourg is in good hands with her. Going forward, the three of us will lead the company, each with a clear focus yet working in close coordination.»

Kim Locher herself says: «SwissMediaPartners is at an exciting juncture, and my goal is to structure both the team and our processes in a way that allows us to grow sustainably and be prepared for the future. What particularly appeals to me is the combination of technology and consulting in an industry that is currently undergoing significant change.»

25 Years of Change in Media Technology

Over the past 25 years, SwissMediaPartners has guided its partners through several waves of digital transformation: from the digitization of audio and video to broadcast automation and storage systems, all the way to fully automated TV studios. Today, the focus is on consulting for innovation and AI strategies. This involves questions such as: Which AI or cloud strategy is the right one? How can costs be optimized, processes automated, and innovations implemented with the right partners? The products from deliver.media, which is part of the same company, are designed to directly support this work. The company is currently expanding its global market presence, with ongoing projects in Switzerland, Europe, and the U.S.
