To mark its 10th anniversary, the International Short Film Festival shnit is planning numerous innovations and a few surprises for the 2012 edition. In addition, the website was restructured and graphically refined just in time for all ten "Playgrounds" to have their own presentation area. "The Flaming Faun" will be presented five times in 2012.

The Shnit International Short Film Festival kicks off with the Opening Night at the Kornhausforum. With a speech by Mayor Alexander Tschäppät, the international short film festival shnit 2011 enters its ninth round. At the official festival opening, Shnit will present a multifaceted cross-section of this year's program highlights.
At the same time, the Slam Movie Night takes place in the auditorium on the second floor of the Progr. A hot film competition in which it's filmmaker vs. audience. If the audience doesn't like the movie, they throw it out of the race with loud boos. Rap master Dodo, the incorruptible referee, ensures fair play.
The Shnit shop window in the Loeb on Spitalgasse also has a lot to offer. In an interactive installation, similar to an iPad, visitors can browse through a selection of film excerpts and find out more about Shnit and the short film festival program.
Voting for the Valiant Youth Film Award has also opened online. Children and young people up to the age of 19 have submitted their film productions and are vying for first place. Until Thursday, 24:00, you can vote on the website Youth Film Award.ch favorites can be selected
