The canton of Schaffhausen has a well-developed public transport system. With a networked campaign, the Public Transport Coordination Office (KÖV) wants to ensure that more people make use of this service.
Activation measures such as discounted half-fare travelcards for new customers or trial day passes are intended to lower the inhibition threshold for using public transport. At the same time, a campaign in public spaces should raise awareness of the services and benefits of public transport.
The campaign runs under the umbrella of "My Schaffhausen public transport" and is designed for the longer term. Several subjects show everyday situations that are only possible on public transport: the father of a family reading stories to his children on the way; the cantonal student learning vocabulary on the way to school in the morning; the young climate activist striking up a conversation with the man in a suit; the elderly couple dreamily riding home from a concert on the bus. In combination with the slogan "Da gits nu im ÖV", these snapshots are intended to create a positive image of public transport.
The campaign has been displayed on posters throughout the canton of Schaffhausen since Monday. Advertisements are also being placed in local newspapers and online on regional news portals.

With the poster offer within the scope of the city contract as well as the supplementary poster spaces on private land and on public transport, APG|SGA continues to offer local and national advertisers in Schaffhausen an attractive portfolio of offers, the company writes in a statement.
In the past, APG|SGA, as a long-standing contractual partner of the city, had already continuously expanded both the space portfolio and the contacts with regional market partners.
APG|SGA's bid would have ensured the best price/performance ratio in the tender, taking into account the qualitative aspects. Financial aspects accounted for 60 percent of the award criteria, and non-monetary aspects such as the market development concept, references, and sustainability were also weighted.
APG|SGA holds more than 500 advertising spaces on public and private land in the canton of Schaffhausen. In addition, there are more than 1,100 indoor formats and around 350 outdoor formats on public transport vehicles, as well as several sampling and promotion areas on the SBB station site.

New design, multimedia content and additional functions on one website: The expanded news and service portal of Schaffhauser Nachrichten, shn.ch, has been presented in a contemporary form since Wednesday and covers all media channels - from text to video and audio to messages in the social networks. The new portal reports almost around the clock on the most important events in the region and also offers multimedia added value to the printed edition of the newspaper. The newspaper content already accessible online will remain at the core of the offering, but the articles will also appear in a presentation optimized for all mobile devices. With the stronger integration of content from Radio Munot and Schaffhausen Television, the multimedia offering for users will be significantly expanded. In addition to the latest news, the portal offers numerous service elements: a daily event overview, a comprehensive regional company index, and a marketplace for real estate, job, vehicle and classified ad offers.
For the preparation of content and the support of Shn.ch Meier + Cie in Schaffhausen creates several new jobs in the online area.
The SN app used to date remains unchanged for the time being and can continue to be used. And of course, as before, the new platform offers the tried-and-tested e-paper, the PDF version of the newspaper for subscribers to download, and the familiar complete newspaper archive.
User claim
"The expansion of shn.ch is not only a technically necessary step, but also meets a need of users who do not want to search for important information and news about our region, but want to get it centrally from a credible source," says Stefan Gasser, CEO Meier + Cie . "As a multimedia media company, we are predestined to operate such a portal."
While the basic news offer and some of the multimedia contributions are available to all users free of charge, full access to the shn.ch offer is reserved for SN subscribers. New users can benefit from a trial offer, in which all functions and content can be tested for three months.
Pfiffner will start as Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tele Top on September 1, 2016. The reports of Peter Hanselmann, winner of the Media Prize for Eastern Switzerland, can be heard again on Radio Top from November. Hanselmann returns to Winterthur from Radio24.
The 35-year-old Philippe Pfiffner from Winterthur is well known in Top-Land: After gaining his first journalistic experience at the Winterthurer Stadtanzeiger, Pfiffner first worked as an editor at Radio Top from 2005 to 2014 and later as a presenter and head of service at Tele Top. After a detour into the insurance industry, Pfiffner is now returning to Top Medien as of September 1, 2016, to take up the post of Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tele Top.
Two months later, a familiar voice from Radio24 is returning to Radio Top: 31-year-old Peter Hanselmann from eastern Switzerland will share responsibility for day-to-day editorial business as head of the service. In addition, he will produce regular features and reports. Hanselmann recently won the Eastern Switzerland Media Award in the radio category with the radio feature "Bugi, the Gravedigger," which was broadcast on Radio Top in spring 2015.
