The Zurich-based company specializing in AI-supported video advertising technology announces its expansion into the Asia-Pacific market. Following its market entry in Germany, Pxlstrm is focusing on Southeast Asia and wants to establish its technologies for contextual video analysis and precise targeting there.

With this step, Pxlstrm is pursuing the goal of expanding its global market position. The company's solution uses artificial intelligence to analyze the visual content, language and mood of videos. This results in a high level of data output, which should enable advertisers to place video advertising precisely in brand-safe and content-appropriate environments. According to Pxlstrm, this significantly increases the relevance and performance of campaigns.

"The Asian markets are developing at a rapid pace and users here are very willing to adapt new technologies," says CEO and co-founder Wei Phung. "This creates an ideal environment for us to learn, innovate and refine solutions that will ultimately benefit all our markets."

For its market entry in Asia, Pxlstrm has already recruited its first employees in Malaysia and Singapore - proven adtech specialists with regional industry experience, according to the company.

Pxlstrm was founded as a spin-off of the Swiss company Adello. With its technology, the company aims to offer an alternative to conventional targeting mechanisms, which are increasingly subject to regulatory and technological restrictions. The expansion into Asia is part of a long-term growth strategy.

Pxlstrm was founded as a spin-off of the adtech company Adello and specializes in AI-supported video advertising. The Zurich-based provider officially announced its expansion into Germany on Monday. The company presented its AI-supported video advertising technology Pxlstrm GP at the AdVantage Microsoft Advertising Event in Munich. The event, organized by Sowespoke, offered agencies insights into the Microsoft advertising ecosystem.

CEO and co-founder Wei Phung presented the solution to a specialist audience of agencies from the SWS Alliance. Launched by Sowespoke, the alliance comprises around 100 digital marketing agencies in Germany that now have access to the technology behind Pxlstrm. "Germany is a crucial market for Pxlstrm's growth. Through our partnership with the SWS Alliance, we are enabling emerging online marketing agencies to leverage AI-driven contextual targeting to maximize ad relevance and effectiveness," said Phung.

Pxlstrm GP uses artificial intelligence to analyze various elements of video content - including visual features, dialogue and moods - in order to place ads as relevant as possible. This is intended to improve user engagement and ensure brand safety. The company claims that the technology increases the relevance of ads by 110 percent on average.

Video advertising is facing a radical change: while moving images dominate as a marketing channel, targeted playout often remains imprecise. Pxlstrm solves this problem with AI-supported analysis of video content - including dialog, objects and soundtrack.

Wei Phung, CEO & Co-Founder of Pxlstrm, recognized the core problem: advertising often does not reach the right audience because the context of the video content is not taken into account. Back in Switzerland, he founded the company Pxlstrm with Mark Forster, which enables advertisers to target precisely.

"Our AI analyzes videos to improve reach, targeting and brand safety. For example, it can recognize which brands are being advertised and which products and objects appear in the video. We also use the audio track to record exactly what is being said. We analyze and classify all this information. This enables us to understand at video level what activities are taking place, what tonality is present and what mood the video conveys."

Pxlstrm relies on patented AI methods that have been proven to increase advertising effectiveness. Typically, campaigns achieve a +100 % higher view-through rate and 98 % thematically relevant impressions. Brand safety and audience targeting significantly outperform traditional video advertising services.

A practical example: Pxlstrm analyzed around 500,000 videos for a luxury car brand, from which 80 % were filtered out as they did not meet the requirements for brand safety and targeting. The result: a +70 % better performance across various metrics compared to the client's previous video ad buy.

This week, Wei Phung announced a limited-time offer: The first ten customers will receive a free video audit worth CHF 1,900, providing detailed insights into performance, delivery and placement - including individual optimization suggestions.
