"Invisible World" lasts over two hours and is not a radio play. It's an invisible movie. It promotes the Invisible Deodorant Spray from Old Spice, which not only has no smell but also nothing to see. The speakers are fans cast via Twitter. The YouTube description:

"Imagine that a deodorant brand were brave enough, crazy enough, to run with an idea as irresponsible and foolhardy as financing a full-length invisible movie that you can't actually see. Now imagine what that would look like. Now stop imagining, because it's happening. Wait, sorry, keep imagining, because there's nothing to see."

The movie is designed not to be seen because there is nothing to see. But of course, it's appealing. The science fiction "thriller" is about an 18-year-old boy who lives in an invisible world. Impressively portrayed through "mindblowing invisible video effects".

The movie has countless surprises in store. For example, there is a reunion with Mr. Wolfdog, the former Marketing Manager from Old Spice (at 1:34:00). And after 24:45, 30:10 and 59:00 minutes, a picture even becomes visible. The numerous, mostly enthusiastic YouTube comments also suggest that there is - or would be - an infinite amount to discover in the evening filler. For example, the Chinese are supposed to speak Japanese consistently - as befits a trash production.

Incidentally, the movie also has a IMDb entry and currently has a phenomenal score of 9.7 points. After six reviews. As a precaution, the film poster already has a placeholder laurel wreath for awards: "Awards Might Be Coming". They could probably really come - but the recipient would be Wieden+Kennedy. (hae)

Wieden+Kennedy landet für Old Spice den nächsten Volltreffer https://www.markt-kom.com/en/kreativity/zu-guter-letzt/wiedenkennedy-landet-fur-old-spice-den-nachsten-volltreffer/ Thu, Jul 13, 2017 3:17:52 PM +0000 https://www.markt-kom.com/?p=89608 old-spice-1

Wieden+Kennedy confidently alludes to the sometimes absurd (but funny) Old Spice campaigns of the past. One remembers, for example, the Legendary Man, who played the tennis balls on a whale, which the whale shot out of the breathing hole. Later he communicated with a gorilla in Sign language. Back in 2013, Wieden+Kennedy signed up Mr. Wolfdog as the new head of marketing for Old Spice. And that's supposed to sell deodorants?

While other manufacturers of men's body care products provide tangible reasons - such as the attraction to women, the anti-transpirant effect or the duration of effect - Old Spice has always been primarily content with making the audience laugh.

Now the Portland-based agency - responsible for all the adventurous advertising excursions of the past - is pulling out all the stops and unleashing a new group of animal testimonials on viewers. To have them picked apart by dedicated mothers in the commercials.

There's not only the disarming Alpha Dawg (the name of a marijuana strain, by the way), but also a super octopus parasailing a bear behind it. And also the skeleton commercial ("Help! His hair is killing the vibe in here." "I should have used Old Spice hair gel.") doesn't really go down well with the ladies, who imagine targeted advertising for body care products to be quite different from this non-sense male appeal.

The whole thing works so well that, as part of the target group, you really only want one thing after laughing: Buy Old Spice in the next store. For the rest of your life. (hae)

Der mit den Gorillas spricht https://www.markt-kom.com/en/kreativity/zu-guter-letzt/der-mit-den-gorillas-spricht/ Mon, Feb 13, 2017 8:30:35 AM +0000 https://www.markt-kom.com/?p=83991 gorilla-3

A year ago, Old Spice introduced the new Legendary Man from (Werbewoche.ch reported): Actor Axel Kiener took over from "Muscle Mountain" Terry Crews and played tennis on a whale to warm up. The marine mammal's blowhole served as a ball launcher—impressive!

The Wieden + Kennedy Portland agency is now bringing its legendary character back to life. The daring explorer has an unforgettable encounter with gorillas in the jungle; he communicates with them skillfully and respectfully—using a kind of sign language.

«I'm surprised you figured that out. You know… with your simple animal mind.»

A typical Old Spice success story. To the audience listening to his talk about his adventures, he explains that Legendary Man And here's why: He'd rather be slapped in the face by success than be strangely tickled by failure. And it's all thanks to his antiperspirant deodorant, which reliably keeps his back dry. Completely aluminum-free, by the way. (hae)

Led among others by the Edeka Christmas spot "coming home", the BVG spot "I don't care"Old Spice is still in 10th place on the most viewed Yotube video ads in Germany - and that with a spot that already has a few years under its belt. (uma)

Zu guter Letzt: Der mit dem Wal tanzt https://www.markt-kom.com/en/kreativity/zu-guter-letzt/zu-guter-letzt-der-mit-dem-wal-tanzt/ Tue, Jan 12, 2016 4:29:16 PM +0000 https://www.markt-kom.com/?p=73925

The blonde beauty succeeds the walking muscleman Terry Crews, who gave us many wonderful hours. For example this or this. The Legendary Man was also created by Wieden + Kennedy Portland. You would probably have guessed that even if you hadn't known. Because once again the verdict is: awesome! In a positive sense. Thanks to Old Spice, the new protagonist - rid of the inhibiting sweat - knows no bounds. He smells legendary, he acts legendary. Without limits. He presents himself - played by "Paris je t'aime" actor Axel Kiener - bare-chested on a trained whale in front of the assembled press. And with one hand he hits tennis balls back out of the ball machine, with the other baseballs that the whale shoots out of the breathing hole.

If you are now in the mood for similar whale experiences: Click (on the desktop) between approx. 0:38 and 0:45 on the frame in the picture. Or directly on the link Legendarywhaletours.net. On the site you can not only book whale riding, but also find out that there is "Wifi on Board" and, commendably, a Myspace page. Another homage by Wieden + Kennedy to the Internet of days gone by (as with the great Mr. Wolfdog campaign - the page was unfortunately deleted, the videos can at least still be found via YouTube search).

In another commercial, Legendary Man chases speed records in "Blue Flame" style with a rocket car on the salt lake. Wow.

The launch of the #smelllegendary campaign is rounded off more than worthily by two simultaneously released "infomercials" with puffer Bob Giovanni. Wieden + Kennedy once again (and very clearly) demonstrates its love for past decades - that's fine by us. (hae)

Zu guter Letzt: Mein Chef mit der kalten Schnauze https://www.markt-kom.com/en/kreativity/zu-guter-letzt/zu-guter-letzt-mein-chef-mit-der-kalten-schnauze/ Mon, Mar 11, 2013 12:11:01 +0000 https://www.markt-kom.com/?p=52631

P&G has enlisted Mr. Wolfdog to effectively sell the new Wild Collection from men's grooming brand Old Spice. He wears a collar that translates his voice into human language. "Sometimes you gotta eat people, America. That's how business works and that's why I'm successful!" - Mr. Wolfdog takes this business wisdom literally. However, unlike the health of his employees, Old Spice's image will not be damaged in any way by the presence of the new head of marketing. On the contrary: the viral spread is running at full speed - like mostlywhen Wieden+Kennedy is beating the drum for Old Spice.

Mr. Wolfdog becomes blog (on a beautiful vintage page with animated 90s gifs) and tweet. In the second video published on Monday evening, the new marketing guru explains the use of computers (as big as possible) - and how to earn an incredible amount of money with them in any case. (hae)
