Maxim, the world's largest men's lifestyle magazine with headquarters in New York, is launching a global redesign. This includes an increased focus on lifestyle, fashion, luxury and close collaboration with Hollywood stars and film studios. The German-language edition of Maxim, which is published in Zurich by Posh Media, is one of the first editions worldwide to switch to the new look. The cover of the first German-language edition of Maxim to be published in the new design features top model Irina Shayk, who can soon be seen in the movie "Hercules". Cristiano Ronaldo's girlfriend is joined by the two Swiss models Maura Waller and Thamara Weiss.

The Swiss edition of Maxim also has its own, significantly expanded event section with international and national content produced in-house. For example, the polo tournament of the Legacy Polo Club in Switzerland and the Ultra Festival in Croatia will appear in the August issue. The "Maxim Hot 100" event will take place this year on September 20, 2014 in Zurich at the "Aura" location. According to the press release, it will be "a showcase of the most beautiful Swiss women, with a few surprises of course". The list of the most beautiful Swiss women will be published in the October 2014 issue.
Thus, Maxim Switzerland is the only German-language edition of the title. The Swiss version appeared for the first time in September 2012 (Werbewoche.ch reported) and is published six times a year.

Maxim Switzerland has existed in digital form since February 2012 as Online magazine. The Swiss version of the global men's magazine is now also available in print. Published by the independent publishing house Posh Media is published under license from the American magazine Maxim. Editor-in-chief and publisher Boris Etter denies to Werbewoche.ch any cooperation or similarities with the German edition established in Switzerland: "Not a single page of Maxim Switzerland comes from the German edition. Well over 50 percent is local Swiss content. The rest comes from the American edition and has been adapted to Switzerland".
The latter is the case, for example, with the cover story featuring Israeli top model Bar Refaeli. Etter knows exactly why, despite the strong focus on Switzerland, a Swiss woman is not the obvious choice to grace the cover of the first issue: "I personally promised Bar Refaeli at the Maxim Hot 100 party in New York that she would grace the cover of the first Swiss issue. I keep my promises". However, the first Swiss woman will not be long in coming, the publisher adds.
The magazine offers around 90 pages of classic men's topics. Several interviews (Bar Refaeli, Anatole Taubman, Henrik Fisker, DJ Sania), scantily clad ladies, driving tips from Christina Surer, a beer and car test as well as various survival tips ("How to behave properly on a yacht when there are lots of models on board"). The single issue costs 7.60 francs. (hae)

Maxim Switzerland is positioning itself as a modern men's magazine that is also popular with women, according to a press release. Every month, a beautiful Swiss woman is staged as a "Maxim Model" by star photographers. Sara Ferroni (pictured) is the first model in the Swiss national edition. In addition, there will be photo spreads from international Maxim editions, especially from the USA, with pictures of international stars such as Cameron Diaz and Katy Perry.
Maxim Switzerland works in close cooperation with Maxim USA and other leading foreign editions.
Maxim UK was launched in 1995 and has always been the third force in the men's magazine segment on the island, behind Loaded and FHM. In 2000, the magazine reached its highest circulation with 328,000 copies sold.
]]>According to Nielsen Media Research, Maxim's gross advertising sales in January/February 2009 amounted to EUR 938,000, around 25 percent less than in the same period last year. According to Kress.de, the magazine also lost significant ground in the distribution market following its relaunch in summer 2008. In the end, Maxim sold just over 100,000 copies.
