In 2024, "The Dolder Grand" celebrates its 125th anniversary. As part of this milestone, the Zurich luxury hotel wants to use the opportunity to expand its positioning with strong communication as a visionary five-star hotel with national and international appeal.
Various events surrounding the anniversary offer exciting and varied communication opportunities, they say. With this in mind and in order to anchor its brand image, the Dolder Grand appointed the communications agency Farner as lead agency for PR and communications last March. The aim is to make the hotel better known in Switzerland during the anniversary celebrations and beyond, particularly in French-speaking Switzerland. Farner provides the Dolder Grand with comprehensive support in the form of strategic communications consulting as well as issues and crisis communications.
The official launch of the collaboration between The Dolder Grand and Farner coincided with the start of the anniversary year in May. "Together with Farner, we want to take our external communication to the next level and consolidate our positioning as the 'beacon of urban hospitality', as Claus Schweitzer aptly described our first place in the BILANZ hotel ranking," explains Joachim Schweier, Senior Marketing & Communications Manager at The Dolder Grand.
Farner already looks after various premium brands. This contract will further expand the client portfolio in the luxury and consumer segment, as the agency writes. "We are proud to be advising the iconic five-star hotel and to be opening a new chapter in communications together with the Dolder Grand," says Toby Felder, Partner at Farner and Lead Marketing & Brand Communications. "The close collaboration with the Dolder Grand is particularly close to our hearts, as we are convinced that outstanding results can only be achieved in co-creation with our clients."

Anyone checking into the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz should experience the hotel, culinary delights, wellbeing and an exclusive lifestyle in its highest form. The concept promises more enjoyment, more health, more lightness, so that guests feel reborn after their stay.
This feeling of a new, healthy, fulfilled and happy life was also the central communicative idea behind "It's a new life", for whose brand strategy, creation and realization the St.Gallen agency Rembrand is responsible.
In order to strengthen the image and positioning of the resort and achieve the highest possible level of awareness, the key visuals were played on target group-oriented media and dominant advertising spaces with a high reach, for example in Zurich's Bahnhofstrasse.

The Swiss watch industry is setting new records in exports and is undergoing a transformation. After an impressive result in 2022, when watch exports reached a new record of almost CHF 25 billion, the strong growth trend continued in the first eight months of this year. Core regions such as the US and China recorded healthy growth. Despite the rise in e-commerce, 62 percent of brands expect in-store sales to dominate over the next five years and plan to expand their retail activities.
This is clear from the Deloitte study 2023 on the Swiss watch industry which includes insights from industry experts and consumer surveys in key markets. The study also shows that watch industry executives see India as a market with incredible potential in the coming years. In the first eight months of the current year, India saw above-average sales growth of 18 percent. Deloitte expects India to be among the top ten Swiss export markets within a decade.

The new partnership is indicated by an advertising offensive that Swatch has launched in recent days in various countries in print media, on social media and on its own website. In addition to Swatch, the ad also mentions Blancpain, as well as the five oceans and the date of next Saturday, September 9, 2023.
There is still no official word on the possible watch launch. In response to an inquiry from AWP, the Swatch Group's media office said on Monday: "Wait and see".
According to an article published by the Handelszeitung on Monday, however, the new partnership between Swatch and Blancpain is a done deal next Saturday. Five Swatch versions named after the world's oceans are to be launched in Blancpain dress. Blancpain is known for its diving watches.
With the new partnership, Swatch probably wants to build on the success of the "Moonswatch" launched in March 2022. The Swatch watch in the design of the Omega cult watch "Moonwatch", which is available in eleven different color combinations at 250 francs a piece, has been in great demand since its launch. The original costs 6000 francs and more.
The range of the "Moonswatch" is limited and the watch models are only available in selected retail outlets. Long queues sometimes formed in front of these Swatch boutiques. In 2022, Swatch said it sold over one million "Moonswatch" watches. (SDA)

"Our logo reflects the soul of La Prairie," comments Greg Prodromides, chief marketing officer of La Prairie. "It embodies the values and heritage of the company and expresses its unique identity to the world. It represents who we are and who we will be tomorrow."
Now, he says, it was time to redesign the logo: "This new logo, unchanged for almost 50 years, represents an important milestone in the history of our brand. It is a way for us to celebrate our past while looking to our future," Prodromides concludes.
La Prairie's new logo was inspired by the very first visual identity of Clinique La Prairie in the 1930s and reinterpreted as elegant, architectural typography.
In the 1970s, La Prairie's best-known logo was designed using the Helvetica font - now Helvetica Neue - created by type designer Max Miedinger in Zurich. The typeface was a symbol of simple, modern Swiss design.
The new, refreshed logo features a sharper, contemporary version of Helvetica that moves the logo from lowercase to uppercase. It will be accompanied by a new signature seal and will be applied to all La Prairie products in the coming months.

Founded by two Swiss with Greek roots, OctaveWorld focuses on olive oils positioned globally in a high-end niche with a social responsibility approach.
The name Octave as well as the entire strategic brand identity were conceived and implemented by Zelebrand International. The eight tone steps, which are representative of an octave, were the inspiration for the name.

The "Creative Legal Intelligence" methodology developed by Zelebrand was used for the brand engineering. This merges all brand protection aspects with the creative process and, according to the agency, is intended to guarantee maximum precision, quality and security with the greatest possible cost efficiency right from the start. This also includes the appropriate global domain strategy as well as the patent protection of word and figurative marks.
"Unfortunately, brands are still too often developed in the blue without being aware of the risks of the digital age," explains Petar Dakovic, Founder and Managing Partner of Zelebrand. "With the 'Creative Legal Intelligence' methodology we developed in collaboration with Brandit, we can guarantee that both new and existing brands can move safely into the future, precisely because the right precautions have been taken from the start."
In addition, Zelebrand has already implemented the first communication measures. These include an initial website with store integration, a brand and product brochure, and a film and photo shoot. According to the agency, further activities are being planned, including additional new products that are currently in the testing phase.

October is marked by the pink ribbon, a symbol against breast cancer. The Zurich watch brand Maurice de Mauriac is also participating in Pink October, with a special edition: With the sale of the "L3 Cherry Blossom," the watch brand is supporting activities against breast cancer. The ambassador and campaign model is long-time top German tennis player Andrea Petković, who ended her career at this year's US Open and has long been committed to helping people with cancer.
"The L3 Cherry Blossom is intended to be a statement, as it were, for those who want to encourage those affected, as well as those who have accepted the battle with the disease," says CEO Massimo Dreifuss. In order to raise funds for the organizations involved in the fight against breast cancer, Maurice de Mauriac will donate 50 percent of the sales proceeds to the Krebsliga Zürich (Zurich Cancer League) in October for projects on the subject of breast cancer. A commitment that will not end at the end of October - even after that, 20 percent of the proceeds from each L3 Cherry Blossom sold will go to the Krebsliga Zürich.

Due to the tense labor market environment and the acute shortage of skilled workers, companies are currently strongly committed to approaching the topic of employer branding in a more professional manner and actively maintaining the employer brand on an ongoing basis. Klar specializes in the discipline of employer branding and has a independent competence unit built up. According to the agency, customer growth has been encouraging.
Klar also designed and created IWC's employer branding with the aim of publicizing the employer values and positioning the company as an attractive employer. Employees from more than 30 countries work at the Schaffhausen watchmaker's headquarters. In the first phase, the focus is on Switzerland as a place to work, but talent is recruited from all over the world.
Based on the Employer Value Proposition, Klar has developed a storyline to authentically convey and prove the promise of talent and career development. Four stories highlight the journey and relationship between mentee and mentor. This is intended to make IWC's workplace, working atmosphere and DNA visible and tangible and to bring the claim "Engineer yourself - become part of the journey" to life.
A four-minute main film was produced, as well as four one-minute stories plus cutdowns for the online campaign. A photo shoot took place at the same time as the shoot.
