With its 109 historic buildings and a collection of 45,000 objects, the Ballenberg Open-Air Museum is one of Switzerland's most important cultural and tourist attractions. After the winter break, the museum will once again welcome guests from all over the world from April 14, 2022.
In the project with Nexum, the digital platforms of the open-air museum are to be freshly aligned and summarized as well as restructured on the basis of a new user experience approach to be developed and applied across the board. The scope includes, in addition to the various web presences, the provision of digital information options on site at the museum, which visitors will access via their own smartphones. This "digital museum guide" is supported by the federal government and the canton of Bern as part of the Covid 19 transformation projects for cultural enterprises.
Nexum is supporting the project from requirements gathering to the development of the technical architecture, the user experience concept and the visual design of the new design system to the front-end and back-end implementation. For the implementation of the content management system, Nexum relies on a modern headless approach that optimally supports the dynamic playout of centrally managed content on a wide variety of digital channels.
Nexum is one of the largest owner-managed digital full-service providers in the German-speaking region and employs over 250 people at its locations in Cologne (headquarters), Berlin, Hamburg, Nuremberg and Paderborn, as well as in Berne, Zurich and Valencia. Its customers include Adecco, apoBank, AEW, Berger Schuhe, Braun, Claas, Coop, Fresenius, Miles & More, Melitta and Zwilling.
