"Get-entry.ch is an uncomplicated web-based solution that guarantees clear verification without the need to physically install an app on the smartphone," explains Remo Tschanz from Baeriswyl tschanz & partner. "Both the guests and the hosts of a restaurant or event benefit equally from fast and secure processing. "

Data protection at the center

At the heart of the application is the generation of a QR code - the so-called personal entry ID - which users must present on their cell phone or printed out together with an official ID when attending an event. The personal entry ID can then be used several times and throughout Switzerland. Registration on get-entry.ch is a one-off process and the data is irrevocably deleted immediately after the registration process. The data will only be stored for 14 days if you actually visit a location or event and present the QR code. Only the first name, surname and date of birth are shown to the operator on site so that they can be checked against the official ID. The operator does not see the other data - zip code, city, email address and cell phone number. The date of birth, which is particularly sensitive, is only displayed for verification with the official ID card, but is not subsequently saved.

No misuse with false information

In recent weeks, several incidents in connection with manual lists have shown how important it is to provide correct personal data. If the accuracy of the data is not guaranteed, contact tracing will not work properly; people cannot be contacted and protective measures such as quarantine cannot be implemented successfully as a result. At Get-entry.ch, misuse is prevented by means of two-factor authentication: "A verified cell phone number acts as the first key via SMS, while checking the first name, surname and date of birth using an official ID when the person actually enters acts as the second key," says Remo Tschanz. The cell phone number is verified by sending a text message in which a link must then be clicked. Only then does the guest receive their personal entry ID. If the host wishes to carry out an evaluation of a day, the responsible office of the cantonal doctor is automatically informed by e-mail.

No fixed costs for organizers

Get-entry.ch is free of charge for visitors. In addition, there is no charge for sending SMS messages for verification. Each new generation of an entry ID is also free of charge. Organizers are charged the following monthly fees per data record: Up to 2500 entries/month 30 centimes per entry and from 2501 to 5000 entries/month 20 centimes per entry. From 5001 admissions/month, billing is on an offer basis. "A certain amount of security has its price," explains Remo Tschanz on behalf of the owners of the three participating companies. "However, we are convinced that the costs of 30 and 20 centimes per admission are very moderate. In addition, the organizers are not taking any financial risk, as there are no fixed costs and costs are only incurred when an event is actually held."

Fabian Cancellara as brand ambassador

Former top athlete Fabian Cancellara acts as brand ambassador for Get-entry.ch. He believes that the solution fits perfectly into the protection concepts of the various sports associations in both elite and popular sports. "Sporting events without spectators are sad and not conducive to sport. With this solution, enough fans will be able to attend sporting events again and sport will receive the urgently needed support."
