Effective August 1, Angela Scalese has assumed the newly created position of Head of Communications and Marketing at Gesundheitswelt Zollikerberg. The new position is part of a strategic realignment: The foundation’s executive board has decided to consolidate existing resources more effectively and merge the communications and marketing departments of the foundation’s executive board and the hospital into a single division.
Gesundheitswelt Zollikerberg is the umbrella brand of the Diakoniewerk Neumünster Foundation – Swiss School of Nursing. It includes, among other things, Zollikerberg Hospital; the ’Living and Housing for Seniors’ division, which comprises the Neumünster Park Residence and the Hottingen Senior Center; the Neumünster Institute; Neumünster Park Catering; and various specialty practices. Each year, 77,000 patients are treated; approximately 200 seniors live in the 222 senior apartments. More than 1,500 employees work for the organization.
Angela Scalese brings many years of experience in communications and marketing in the healthcare sector. Previously, she served as Head of Communications for NCDs at the Federal Office of Public Health, where she oversaw the prevention of noncommunicable diseases, the promotion of mental health, and the prevention of substance use disorders. Before that, she worked at Senevita, one of Switzerland’s leading providers of housing, support, and care for the elderly. Other career highlights include managing a communications agency, holding various leadership roles in the corporate sector, and serving in a variety of capacities as a media spokesperson.
Thanks to her experience in the private sector, with NGOs, and in public administration, she is familiar with a variety of stakeholders and organizations—a foundation that will serve her well in her role at the Zollikerberg Health Center.
Angela Scalese is a member of the Foundation's Board of Directors. Together with her team, she will be responsible for corporate communications, internal communications, marketing, event management, and media relations.
Reflecting on her first few weeks in her new role, she says: «I’m very happy to be back working in primary care.» Gesundheitswelt Zollikerberg, founded by courageous women, is an organization with unique roots. It is a true pioneering organization that has managed to evolve and adapt over the decades while remaining true to its mission and values.”
