The Eventfrog Cashless app is now available on the App Store and Google Play. It’s designed to let event organizers turn their smartphones into a full-featured point-of-sale system in just a few minutes—without any additional hardware, without a monthly fee, and on fair terms. With this launch, Eventfrog—which claims to be Switzerland’s largest event platform—is introducing a solution designed to make cashless payment processing accessible even to smaller events and clubs.
According to Eventfrog, guests can choose between card payments, TWINT, and cash. Receipts are sent digitally via QR code or email and are VAT-compliant. The app also features a tipping function. «With Eventfrog Cashless, your smartphone becomes a point-of-sale terminal—without any additional hardware, complicated setup, or hidden costs,» says Mike Müller, founder and CEO of Eventfrog. Event organizers can use it to process payments in a matter of seconds, speed up on-site operations, and significantly reduce staffing and administrative costs.
Eventfrog Cashless costs CHF 0.09 plus 1.5 percent per transaction, plus VAT—with no monthly fixed costs and no minimum sales requirement. This makes the solution significantly more affordable than traditional mobile payment solutions. From club parties to multi-day open-air festivals: According to the company, the app is designed for events of all sizes.
At large events, volunteers can pair their smartphones using a QR code and immediately start processing payments on multiple devices at the same time. All transactions are consolidated in one place, and sales statistics are available at any time.
According to the company, Eventfrog has been operating in the events industry for ten years. Among other things, the platform offers completely fee-free ticket sales and event advertising for a range of budgets.

Ten years ago, Eventfrog shook up the Swiss event industry with a radical move: ticket sales became completely free of charge - financed by advertising on the tickets. This model laid the foundation for rapid growth and made Eventfrog the largest event platform in Switzerland. Now comes the second revolution: Eventfrog ticket advertising is being abolished. From now on, all tickets will be completely free of third-party advertising. Ticket sales will remain 100 percent free of charge.

What was sometimes perceived as annoying by event organizers and ticket buyers in recent years is now history. «Ten years ago we abolished ticket fees, today we are abolishing ticket advertising - this is our second revolution,» says Mike Müller, founder and CEO of Eventfrog. «With tickets without third-party advertising, we enable event organizers to have a more professional brand presence and offer guests a better ticket experience. At the same time, we keep our promise: fee-free ticket sales - without compromise.»
According to the press release, Eventfrog has gradually reduced its dependence on ticket advertising in recent years. Now it is doing away with it completely - without compromising the fee-free model.

Advertising nevertheless remains a key issue for Eventfrog - but consistently in the interests of the event organizers. Hundreds of advertising services are now available on the platform, which can be booked directly with just a few clicks: from event endings in online and print media to radio and public transport to more than 13,000 screens throughout Switzerland. In cooperation with media partners such as Tamedia, CH Media and Livesystems, Eventfrog has become the largest network for event advertising in Switzerland.
«People used to earn money by advertising on tickets - today we earn money by making events even more successful,» says Mike Müller. «This creates real added value for event organizers and is in the interests of everyone involved.»
Eventfrog also wants to bring more freedom and fairness to the event industry in the future - among other things with the recently announced Eventfrog Cashless App, which is intended to turn the smartphone into a fully-fledged cash register: without additional hardware, easy to use and at fair conditions.

After several years of collaboration, Eventfrog acquires Eventbooster AG, which operates in Switzerland and Germany. Eventbooster is a promotion platform that enables event organizers to place advertisements in various print and online media.
The aim is to increase the visibility and success of events. Eventfrog organizers were already able to book promos in various media, but now they will receive direct access to the publication of their events with a publication guarantee. This should make it even easier to promote events in the future.
Eventfrog is committed to giving smaller event organizers a strong media presence. In view of the declining reach of cultural agendas due to a drop in sales and cost-cutting measures by the media, Eventfrog produces self-financed
Calendar of events. These efforts are intended to underline Eventfrog's commitment to promoting and supporting the diversity of the Swiss cultural landscape in the media.
On Thursday, the startup announced the partnership with the ESC singer in a statement. The collaboration between Marius Bear and Eventfrog gives the singer access to an ideal advertising platform for his album and associated tours in Switzerland, it said. "I'm really looking forward to the collaboration and to becoming a brand ambassador. Eventfrog is committed to the cultural landscape and us artists. I can wholeheartedly stand behind that and champion the event revolution," Bear says of the collaboration.
Marius Bear is not the first ambassador of Eventfrog. Guitarist Zlatko Perica, better known as Slädu, joined the startup back in 2021. According to Slädu, the reason why Marius Bear was chosen as ambassador is obvious: "For me, Marius Bear stands for the same values as Eventfrog: a visionary, innovative, fierce, and culturally engaged. The match is more fitting for me than I could have dreamed. Just like Eventfrog, he's a likeable, up-and-coming underdog with international potential."
Marius Bear, whose real name is Hügli, grew up near Appenzell. He only came to music in his early 20s after receiving compliments on his voice at recruit school. Initially, he tried his luck as a street musician before being drawn to London to study music at the British and Irish Modern Music School. In 2019 he was awarded the Swiss Music Award, and in 2022 he will represent Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest.

The collaboration now gives Crossiety users direct access to Switzerland's largest event agenda. Event organizers on Eventfrog profit from the additional reach offered by the Crossiety network of cities and municipalities.
Associations and small and medium-sized event organizers usually have to register events on several platforms in order to achieve the desired reach. In addition, the event platforms charge high fees for ticketing and other services. That's why the two startups Crossiety and Eventfrog, founded in 2016, decided to strategically collaborate. Crossiety's Digital Village Square is the local and trusted platform for communities and cities. Eventfrog is the largest digital event calendar in Switzerland and offers free ticketing to event organizers.
Via a technical interface, events throughout Switzerland and Germany are now transferred from Eventfrog to Crossiety. Crossiety users thus profit from the rich event offering and event organizers can use Eventfrog's free event organization solution. Thanks to Crossiety, they can also reach local audiences in communities and cities in a more targeted manner.
The town of Rheinfelden, which already works successfully with both platforms, actively supported the implementation of the interface and welcomes the new digital possibilities. According to town clerk Roger Erdin, the collaboration of the two innovative platforms facilitates their use: "By linking our website with the two platforms, we not only increase the reach. The event management will now be completely automated and save a lot of time for the club representatives and organizers.
According to Crossiety CEO Joel Singh, events on the digital village square are in high demand despite the current pandemic: "Thanks to the strategic partnership with Eventfrog, we can now offer our users direct access to the largest event agenda in Switzerland. Singh is convinced that the new service will also appeal to younger target groups in rural regions.
In addition, he sees enormous potential for optimization in the handling of events on the part of municipal and city administrations through the linking of the two platforms.

After the federal government issued a ban on Friday, 28.02.2020 for large events with more than 1000 visitors, and also for smaller events partly strict conditions apply, many events had to be canceled. The regulation hits small event organizers particularly hard. This is because non-profit associations and artists usually have few resources for their cultural activities and also no reserves for unplanned cancellations. Since it is not clear how long the conditions will apply, there is currently also a lack of planning certainty.
With the fundraiser "Every ticket counts" Eventfrog wants to help these organizers quickly and easily. On Eventfrog.ch, affected event organizers can create their own virtual donation events. They can share these via social media or their website in the same way as a real ticket pre-sale and thus easily use them for their fundraising appeals. Instead of tickets for a real event, they can offer virtual donation tickets, so to speak. Eventfrog takes care of the collection and spreads the word about the campaign via their own channels. With this fundraising campaign, event organizers have the chance to tell a broad public about their individual situation. And vice versa, fans, culture enthusiasts and consumers can make a targeted, valuable contribution to the event that is particularly close to their hearts. The "Every Ticket Counts" campaign begins on March 6 and runs until May 31, 2020.
The Olten-based start-up Eventfrog was founded with the idea of offering small and medium-sized event organizers a free ticketing solution. This has developed into an event platform that goes far beyond that and accompanies event organizers throughout the entire process of staging events and marketing them.
Eventfrog turns the Swiss ticketing system on its head: neither organizers nor visitors pay fees when buying or selling a ticket. Whether it is to promote an event or to buy a ticket for the concert of one's favorite band - there are no additional costs. This is in stark contrast to the competition, which still uses the flat-rate order system.
The Swiss start-up got off to a flying start and was awarded the Master of Swiss Web in 2017 - at that time still under the name Ticketfrog. This was followed in April 2018 by the Disruptor Award for the company with the globally unique business model.
"Eventfrog is the highway to applause - or in other words, the fastest and easiest way for event organizers of any size to find their audience," says Livio Dainese, Co-CEO of Wirz, outlining the philosophy of his new customer. "I am convinced that the platform will really shake up the industry with its disruptive approach. We are very happy to accompany them on their way to the top."
