Energy Zurich attracts 320,000 listeners in the advertising-relevant target group every week, making it the private radio station with the widest reach in German-speaking Switzerland. Energy Bern and Energy Basel also lead their markets in the advertising-relevant target group. Together, the Energy Group reaches an average gross reach of 985,000 people per week in the advertising-relevant target group. This makes Energy the leading radio brand in German-speaking Switzerland among 15- to 49-year-olds.

Energy Zurich with a 22 percent lead

Energy Zürich leads the advertising-relevant target group with 320,000 listeners and is 22% ahead of its nearest competitor in the Zurich area. In terms of total reach, Energy Zurich reaches 521,000 listeners per week, making it the private radio station with the widest reach in German-speaking Switzerland.

Energy Bern with a clear lead

Energy Bern reaches 229,000 listeners in the advertising-relevant target group and is the clear market leader in Bern with a 106% lead over its nearest competitor. In terms of total reach, Energy Bern reaches 373,000 listeners per week.

Energy Basel and Vintage Radio successful

Energy Basel has 118,000 listeners in the advertising-relevant target group, making it the strongest private radio station in Basel with a 22% lead over its nearest competitor. The average age is 45, which is ten years younger than that of its nearest competitor in the region. In terms of total reach, Energy Basel reaches 198,000 listeners.

Vintage Radio reaches 205,000 listeners in the advertising-relevant target group and has a 28% lead over its direct genre competitor. In terms of total reach, Vintage Radio reaches 481,000 listeners per week.

Weekly reach decisive for advertising market

The Mediapulse data is based on the average cumulative weekly reach - the most relevant key figure for the advertising market, as campaigns usually run for at least a week. Measured by this weekly reach, Energy stands for reach, relevance and a young audience - the ideal platform for brands and campaigns.

Energy Zurich, Energy Bern and Vintage Radio are among the top ten private radio stations in terms of daily reach, while Energy Basel is in 20th place. However, weekly reach remains decisive for the advertising market, as it reflects the actual campaign period.

Energy is a leading Swiss entertainment company with activities in the areas of radio, events and digital.

With an average cumulative weekly reach of 1,758,000 listeners, Energy is one of the most successful private radio networks in Switzerland and one of the leading Swiss media brands on social media.

Die Energy Gruppe schliesst zwei Radiostationen https://www.markt-kom.com/en/markom/die-energy-gruppe-schliesst-zwei-radiostationen/ Fri, 27 Jun 2025 13:13:06 +0000 https://www.markt-kom.com/?p=236757 With Energy Zurich and Energy Bern, the Energy Group already reaches a large and growing audience in the Lucerne and St. Gallen regions - their reach is significantly greater than that of the local Energy stations. Concentrating on the Group's strongest brands is therefore a logical and consistent decision to further expand its leading market position.

"The decision was not an easy one for us," says Kevin Gander, CEO of Energy Group Switzerland. "We have launched two ambitious projects with Energy Lucerne (since 2021) and Energy St. Gallen (since 2022). We realized that we already have a strong presence in both regions with our established stations Energy Zurich and Energy Bern."

The closure of the two stations also has personnel consequences: There are currently a total of ten employees with current contracts at the two locations. Five of them will be given the opportunity to continue working within the Energy Group in order to strengthen the existing programs in a targeted manner. For five people, the reorganization unfortunately means the termination of their employment contracts. Energy is in contact with the affected employees and is seeking individual, socially acceptable solutions with regard to their departure.

With a clear focus on the three main stations, Energy is pursuing the goal of moving into the top 10 of Swiss private radio stations with all Energy stations - a position that Energy Zurich and Energy Bern already occupy today.

The Energy Group already reaches the most listeners of all Swiss radio stations via the Internet. This digital leadership role is to be further expanded. For advertising customers in Lucerne and St. Gallen, this means that effective advertising solutions will remain in place: Effective advertising solutions remain available even without a local DAB+ stationn - both via Energy Zurich and Energy Bern and via online radio, where campaigns continue to be targeted, measurable and effective in the Lucerne and St. Gallen regions.

The Energy Group is strategically positioning itself for the future and making important changes to its management. At the beginning of February, Pascal Aminzadeh took over from Roger Spillmann and now acts as Chief Audio Officer (CAO). The renaming of the position reflects the expanded responsibility for all of Energy's audio products and stands for an open, future-oriented strategy.

In addition, Energy plans to expand the management team with the newly created position of Chief Experience Officer (CXO). This role will involve the further development of event formats and Energy's digital experience, including social media and digital communities. The Energy Group's established events include Energy Air, Energy Star Night and Energy Live Session.

With these structural changes, the Energy Group is strengthening its market position and positioning itself optimally for the dynamic developments in the media and entertainment sector.

Ringier gestaltet sein Pressehaus um https://www.markt-kom.com/en/medien/ringier-gestaltet-sein-pressehaus-um/ Mon, Sep 19, 2022 11:22:51 +0000 https://www.markt-kom.com/?p=186491 For almost 40 years, the Pressehaus at Dufourstrasse 23 in Zurich has been the headquarters of the media and technology company Ringier, which operates in 19 countries. On April 11, 1978, the beige-metallic building was opened by then Federal Councilor Kurt Furgler. In 2015, the last major renovation took place in the reception area and on the second floor when Energy Group Switzerland moved in. Finally, BlickTV was integrated into the newsroom in 2019/2020. Today, the press building offers 500 individual workplaces and around 300 conference and meeting places.

Since the introduction of the hybrid work model at Ringier in May 2022, the requirements for technical equipment as well as the optimal utilization of the available floor space have changed fundamentally. Management, the Board of Directors and the owning family are taking this into account. Starting in 2023, a modernization of the interior of the six-story press building is on the agenda.

In collaboration with the Hamburg-based architecture and interior design firm Stephen Williams Associates, which has designed the offices of Facebook and Twitter in Berlin, Boston Consulting in Hamburg, and Accenture in Hamburg, Essen, and Geneva, among others, work is currently underway on scenarios and plans for Dufourstrasse 23 so that in the future there will be sufficient space for inspiring encounters, creativity, collaboration, art, and culinary delights. The wish list of the company's management and employees includes an auditorium as well as sufficient space for innovation and learning labs, enough exhibition space for art exhibits, and an inviting area for entertaining employees and guests.

Art as a central component

"Contemporary art is and remains a central part of Ringier's DNA. Over 200 works of art accompany employees in their daily lives." the company communicates. At Ringier, art is not just decoration and more than just the passion of publisher Michael Ringier, who says: "I go to a museum with the intention of looking at art and thus deliberately expose myself to a situation. It's different in a company, where art hopefully intrudes unobtrusively into people's everyday lives. It has a completely different effect. It is simply there. It just hangs on the wall and it influences our perception in a very discreet way. Art asks questions, journalism asks questions, and that's the only way we have a chance to come up with new answers."

"The new press building will be more open, more modern, more fun and more artistic," says CEO Marc Walder of the structural changes. "Over the past 15 years, Ringier has transformed itself from a traditional publishing house into an international, modern media and technology company. The new press building will reflect this. We offer our employees a working environment that combines modernity, innovation, agility and collaboration under one roof."

The conversion schedule assumes an implementation window of around three years. Construction will start in 2023 after all permits have been issued.

Stadtrat Baumer im Podcast von EWZ und Energy Zürich https://www.markt-kom.com/en/medien/stadtrat-baumer-im-podcast-von-ewz-und-energy-zuerich/ Mon, 05 Sep 2022 15:00:28 +0000 https://www.markt-kom.com/?p=185568

The podcast says it brings "entertaining episodes around nasty energy issues for a young audience."

Electricity could become scarce in winter, quotas for large consumers or even periodic shutdowns could soon be a reality. In the new episode, you can learn more about why Zurich and Switzerland are dependent on the solidarity of Europe, how you can make a big contribution with little things and why a jolt must now go through the population.

Vitamin E, the energy podcast from EWZ and Energy Zürich is easy to understand, instead of just for nerds. Sandro Galfetti and Nadia Goedhardt find out amazing things when they interview ewz director Benedikt Loepfe and his guests, this time city councilor Michael Baumer. You can listen to the podcast on Spotify, Apple, Google as well as Energy and ewz.

For young people with no prior knowledge, it becomes clearer episode by episode that many things are not that complicated. Can I heat my home with seawater? Can net zero be explained with the analogy of the bank account balance at the end of the month? How can we get rid of fossil fuels as soon as possible so that we don't end up like dinos? In a short format of 15 minutes, we provide practical answers every month in a fun, in-depth interview. ewz is not only fulfilling its supply mandate, but also strengthening trust in the company by conveying context and knowledge.

The podcast will be promoted on Energy's social media channels with Instastories and posts as well as on Energy Zurich with radio spots, and also on EWZ's social media channels.

Responsible at EWZ: Livia Waldesbühl (Project Management), Hadrien Jean-Richard (Head of Storytelling & Communication Services), Thöme Jeiziner (Content, Team Media & Public Affairs), Fabrice Göldi, Julia Weber (Social Media), Pascal Schaub (Head of Marketing & Communication).

Energy eröffnet erstes Radiostudio im Metaverse https://www.markt-kom.com/en/medien/energy-eroeffnet-erstes-radiostudio-im-metaverse/ Sat, 27 Aug 2022 14:23:07 +0000 https://www.markt-kom.com/?p=185055 The virtual radio studio of the entertainment company Energy has its own music program, its own sound image and is also regularly visited by various well-known Energy presenters. In the next few days, hotly sought-after tickets will be raffled off for Energy Air, the summer finale at the Stockhorn Arena in Thun. Around Energy Air and until the end of the year, further activities and implementations are planned together with Swisscom, including several live concerts in Web 3.0.

After Energy Zurich, Energy Bern, Energy Basel, Energy Luzern and Energy St.Gallen, the first purely digital Energy radio station goes live in the Metaverse. The realistically recreated radio studio is located on Decentraland - a decentralized 3D virtual reality platform. The radio studio was designed and implemented in collaboration with Software Brauerei AG from Zurich. Swisscom, as a long-standing presenting partner of the Energy Live events, has also been on board with the implementations in the Metaverse from the very beginning and is represented with its own lounge and the "blue Space", which has already provided impressive recordings at the physical festivals.

Pascal Frei, CEO of Energy Group, is impressed: "With a small, agile team and together with Swisscom as well as the software brewery, we were able to implement the new radio station in the Metaverse together in the last few weeks. Now we want to experience the possibilities with our community, learn a lot and push the Metaverse project further." With this, Energy and Swisscom set another milestone in terms of innovative activations. After last year's high-impact attitude campaign "Mute the Hate," which advocated more respect on the Internet, the two partners are now also breaking new ground together in the Metaverse.

Dirk Wierzbitzki, Head of Private Customers and member of the Executive Board, is delighted about the joint initiative: "Metaverse is on everyone's lips and offers us the opportunity to identify new opportunities in the digital world at various levels. It makes me proud to once again set an innovation benchmark in the activation of our partnership together with our long-standing partner Energy."

Studio 1:1 replica

The Energy radio station in the Metaverse looks almost like a real studio and has been virtually recreated 1:1. From the acoustic sound world, to radio hosts on site or even own station voices - for the first time with certain elements even in English - the experience will be special but also unique, as Pascal Frei explains: "Our radio station can be seen and heard. I'm looking forward to seeing our presenters live soon, exchanging ideas with the community digitally and communicating with each other virtually."

Anyone who visits the Energy radio studio in the Metaverse by September 4, 2022, will collect "SHOAP tokens" via the "Play to Earn" mechanism, which can be redeemed for exclusive Energy Air ticket prize draws. Hotly sought-after Energy Air tickets will also be raffled off in Swisscom's virtual "blue Space". A live visit to the Metaverse radio studio during the Energy Air show is also planned, allowing the thousands of viewers to immerse themselves in the virtual action up close. The radio studio is accessible to everyone free of charge and around the clock - all that is needed to visit Decentraland is a computer with Internet access. Those who want to collect the tokens also need a wallet (e.g. Metamask), which they can link to their customizable avatar and thus immerse themselves in the virtual 3D world. More information and a simple guide are available at energy.ch/metaverse.

Metaverse live concerts with Swisscom

In addition to the radio studio, the first Metaverse live concerts are planned with Swisscom by the end of the year, at which both national and international acts will musically inspire visitors in Web 3.0 in the style of an Energy Live session. These Metaverse events will be accompanied by additional features, such as virtual collectibles and other special implementations, which will offer the community unprecedented interaction opportunities with artists or Energy presenters.

Energy St. Gallen is the fifth radio station of the internationally successful Energy brand to be launched in German-speaking Switzerland, following Energy Zurich, Energy Bern, Energy Basel and Energy Lucerne. With this, the group completes the expansion and further development of the national Energy network in Switzerland for the time being, as Energy writes in a statement. With Eastern Switzerland, another important region - both in terms of listeners and advertising - is being opened up.

Energy Lucerne has already been broadcasting directly from Lucerne city center since mid-August 2021 (Werbewoche.ch reported). "The positive response in the Central Switzerland market gives us tailwind for another important radio project," Pascal Frei, CEO of the Energy Group, is quoted as saying in the statement. While preparations for Energy St. Gallen are underway, the finishing touches are being made in Lucerne - the studio will be ceremoniously opened in January 2022.

Energy St. Gallen will be receivable via DAB+ throughout eastern Switzerland, as well as worldwide via the Energy app and website. "We are pursuing the same concept in eastern Switzerland as in Basel, Bern, Lucerne and Zurich: the program should focus on strong voices, local information, regional service, good music and lots of entertainment," promises Roger Spillmann, Chief Radio Officer of the Energy Group.

Radio Energy is now using this technology for a digital scavenger hunt at Christmas time. On Saturday, prizes will be digitally hidden all over the city of Zurich, which can be snatched using the AR function of the Scount app. Participants can find various prizes worth a total of 10,000 francs in cash and over 35,000 francs in vouchers. Companies such as Chicorée, Metro Boutique, Pathé Cinemas, Beldona and Qualipet are among those taking part.

Via the Instagram account of Scount participants will receive regular hints on this day about where the big prizes are hidden. All you need to participate is the Scount app.
