The Zurich-based communications agency Compresso is strengthening its Advisory Board with the creative and strategically skilled communications expert and journalist Roger Rüegger at the start of 2026. Together with the existing Board of Directors Fridolin Stauffacher and Joko Vogel as well as the Executive Board with Sascha Nadtochiy, Nina Kehl and Suzanne Nievergelt, the Advisory Board will support the strategic development of Compresso.
Roger Rüegger can look back on a long career in leading national and international agencies. He was Executive Creative Director at Publicis and the Y&R Group Switzerland (now Ingo), where he was responsible for the creative and strategic development of well-known brands. Further stations in his career include Wunderman, Futurecom interactive, Leagas Delaney as well as event and trade marketing at Adidas. In addition to his agency experience, Roger Rüegger has been an internationally active journalist, author and blogger for many years and has first-hand knowledge of the mechanisms, expectations and working methods of the media.

In his role on the Advisory Board, Roger Rüegger will assist Compresso with strategic issues relating to brand management, creative development and integrated communication and digital strategies. Roger Rüegger is very familiar with the Compresso world with its five strategic areas of Events, Public Relations, Brand Activation, Digital and Campaigns - he has strengthened the teams with strategic advice in the past and is one of the creative minds behind numerous pitch wins. As a media professional, he will also support Compresso in the areas of public relations and content creation to continue to position itself successfully in the changing media environment, at the interface between strategic communication, journalistic relevance and credible media work.

"Convincing communication is created where strategy, creativity and content work together. Compresso combines these skills in a convincing way. I am therefore looking forward to supporting the results-oriented team with my experience from an agency and media perspective in its further development as a communications agency," says Roger Rüegger.
The Zurich-based communications agency Compresso has set itself a clear goal: to be the favorite agency of its clients and all its employees. To achieve this, around 25 experts put their heart and soul into developing solutions in the areas of public relations, brand activation, events, campaigns and digital. Compresso works on an interdisciplinary basis, without rigid hierarchies, and supports clients as a full-service agency or with individual disciplines - smart, creative and hands-on. Compresso's successful media work for numerous renowned Swiss hotels and restaurants has won over another establishment: the unique Appenzeller Huus in the heart of Appenzell. Since June 1, 2025, the trio has been relying on Compresso's public relations expertise and services to effectively and purposefully place its characterful establishments - including the upcoming reopening of Huus Quell - in the media. Compresso is responsible for press relations in Switzerland, Germany and Austria.
Inspired by the nature and culture of the Appenzellerland, the Appenzeller Huus brings together the best the region has to offer under one roof and stands for a new form of luxury: authentic hospitality, heemel architecture and living tradition. The lovingly renovated Huus Bären is one of the most traditional guesthouses in Switzerland and, with just 12 individually designed rooms and the original room height of 1.80 meters in some of the vintage rooms, is the origin of the Appenzeller Huus Resort in Gonten. A regular source of smiles at the 3-star superior hotel with a history dating back to 1602: the characteristic hayrack at the head of the beds, which makes it look as if real hay is squeezing out from behind the glass - country life at its best.
Directly opposite, the Huus Löwen welcomes guests with 24 modern rooms in the style of Appenzell moonwood. The 4-star superior hotel was built in the traditional Appenzell knitted construction style and is characterized by moon wood from the region, which was felled in certain phases of the moon - a natural material that stands for special stability, longevity and a warm, calming aura. In addition to the Jakob-Schlaepfer-Lounge, the summer terrace and the Löwensaal, the unique HotPot on the roof terrace invites you to pause, take a deep breath and enjoy.
The Huus Quell will follow in late fall 2025 - a 5-star superior hotel with visionary wellness standards. Like its historic neighbors, it is being built in traditional timber-knit construction, creating a first-class wellness area. Guests can expect an exclusive spa experience with cryo and oxygen chambers, biohacking, infrared therapy as well as an outdoor area with vitality pool, steam grotto and sauna igloo. The finest natural cosmetics, a tranquil design concept and a spa menu for body and soul perfectly complement the wellness oasis with a total of nine pools and fourteen treatment rooms. Several wine cellars and the "Botanicum" bar, where guests can watch Elmir Medunjanin's cocktail artistry, create a place for enjoyable encounters. Together with the fine culinary concept of Executive Chef Carsten Kypke, Huus Quell is a retreat for all those looking for something special. Even before its opening, it was included in the The Leading Hotels of the World recorded.

Why do you go to the bakery? Because it's nearby, the sales staff are particularly friendly or it's the only place you can buy your favorite bread? Compresso believes that a bakery is like a love affair - it has to be right.
This guiding principle is the common thread running through the Hotz poster campaigns that have already been implemented - and those that will follow in the coming months - in a cheeky, surprising and tongue-in-cheek way. While the 2024 Christmas campaign focused on Hotz's confectionery specialties, the second campaign in January and February 2025 focused on the company's bread expertise. Whether tipsy truffles "full to the top", the "hot Heinz", which is only "still available" at Hotz, or "Ueli, the original", which is "one like no other" and presents itself as strong and crispy baked rye bread: There is plenty to smile about. The next few weeks will show how the love affair continues.
Social media as a communication channel not only requires exciting content and meaningful images, but also ongoing channel management. Compresso has been responsible for Hotz's Instagram and Facebook channels since the 2024 Advent season and realized a Christmas content shoot as a first step.
The team from the Zurich-based agency is currently shaping the social media presence with appropriate posts and regularly updates the channels. Compresso is also responsible for community management. The measures also include an atmospheric press event on the theme of "Easter", which is intended to bring Hotz to life - sweet, chocolatey and with a pinch of tradition.
Responsible at Compresso: Suzanne Nievergelt (overall responsibility, consulting & PR), Daniela Rizzuto (project management & social media), Sean Dünki (creation).

Just in time for the start of spring, the Zurich-based communications agency Compresso has implemented an innovative activation campaign for Heineken with the playful quiz "BrewQuest" - and for the first time, artificial intelligence (AI) is also playing a role. Users can scan their Heineken beer to access "BrewQuest". The knowledge quiz provides users with facts about Heineken beer and its production. There are big and small prizes to be won by those who successfully complete the quiz.
In more than 500 participating pubs, green and yellow posters, stickers, table stands and beer mats with QR codes lead to the quiz. Users are taken directly to the Heineken website or to "BrewQuest". Here they can upload a picture of their Heineken beer. AI is used to check whether it is a Heineken. If the identification is positive, the quiz starts, which contains three questions about Heineken. What does the red Heineken star stand for? In how many countries in the world is Heineken brewed? What percentage of Heineken's energy consumption comes from renewable sources? The campaign runs from April 15 to May 31, 2024.
Overall responsibility for conception and implementation Compresso AG: Alexandra (Sascha) Nadtochiy (consulting), Daniela Rizzuto (project management), Samuel Rüegger (developer), Sean Dünki & Yannick Vogel (graphics). Following an evaluation, Alfies decided to commission Zimmermann Communications to set up and manage its social media channels in Switzerland. The agency is to position the Alfies brand on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok and build awareness and popularity among consumers in urban Zurich.
Zimmermann Communications will work closely with the marketing management in Austria and the local managers to tailor the Alfies brand message to the specific needs and preferences of the Zurich market. Creative, local content, interactive elements and targeted community management are intended to build a strong bond between the new brand and the people of Zurich.
Compresso is responsible for the professional implementation of public relations in Switzerland. The PR team will ensure that Alfie makes the right impression in the Swiss media landscape. A successful press event in the heart of Zurich has already been a successful kick-off.
According to the company, the most relevant business, lifestyle and food-specific media, daily and weekly newspapers were reached in just a few hours with target group-relevant interviews at the press event and an informative media release on the market launch. Compresso's press work has already reached over 4 million people.

"To lure consumers out from behind their PCs and cell phones and into the Coop Cooperative's 21 shopping centers throughout Switzerland with real experiences" was the briefing for Compresso. In order to increase customer frequency in the Coop sales outlets, the agency developed a creative, modular roadshow under the central idea of "Dreamland".

A dreamland is being created in the shopping centers where children, young people and adults can immerse themselves in a cheerful fantasy world. Several interactive activity and experience modules will be placed around a large dream tree: a cozy module for chilling out with audio books and books, another where selfies can be taken and pictures painted and one where instant prizes can be grabbed from a vending machine. A creative space is also available for shopping center tenants, where they can place their own special promotions during the roadshow. A large competition will be running throughout the roadshow.

The individual Dreamland modules with clouds and rainbows were designed by the graphic designers at Compresso and technically implemented by Bost Productions. POS and experiential communication specialists from Tosec were responsible for the entire roadshow logistics.

Responsible at Coop: Aurélie Stampfli (Project Manager Marketing & Event EKZ National), Thomas Haslimeier (Head of EKZ National). Responsible at Compresso (overall responsibility for conception and organization): Nina Kehl (consulting), Jana Naef (project management), Lancia Vezhaparambil (project management), Sean Dünki & Yannick Vogel (graphics). Responsible at Tosec: Sabine Walther (Managing Partner), Ernst-Peter Walther (Managing Partner).

There are few things more magical for children in the run-up to Christmas than writing their Christmas Eve wish list. In a 48-second film, Brack.ch shows the logistics center in Willisau during the pre-Christmas period. The voice of nine-year-old Uma guides viewers through the film, which transforms the logistics center into a childlike illusion of a Christmas parcel factory in the very first seconds.
It is only in the final moments of the movie that it becomes clear who the girl is telling the story to. In the living room at home, the little brother listens to the magical story with wide eyes and full of anticipation, while both children are busy making their wish lists.
The film and its media-specific cut-downs are the focus of the broad-based Christmas campaign, which was once again developed this year by Compresso and Zimmermann Communications.
The campaign was filmed last Advent in order to tell the authentic story of the Brack.ch logistics center during the Christmas season, the agencies explain in a joint press release. "Despite all the childlike illusion and Christmas magic with which the campaign aims to inspire, it is nevertheless real and authentic. From the filming location to the employees who can be seen. Admittedly, the alpaca is cast," explains Sandrine Knechtli, Head of Marketing Communications at Brack.ch, with a grin.
An OOH campaign, in which the two children Uma and Luis write their wish lists, as well as numerous online and social media content round off the Christmas campaign.
Responsible at Brack.ch: Simon Thoma (Head of Marketing), Sandrine Knechtli (Head of Marketing Communications), Olivier Pasche (Head of Marketing Creation). To reassure its customers in their choice of transport and to entertain them on the journey to the Easter vacations, SBB launched the "Ciao Stau" campaign together with the Zurich-based communications agency Compresso. Full of schadenfreude, rail passengers at Bern station were able to watch the growing Easter traffic jam on the A2 live on screens on Maundy Thursday and follow the race south between a car driver and a train passenger on Instagram.
With this campaign, SBB wanted to confirm to its customers that they had chosen the right means of transport to travel south - and with a good dose of schadenfreude. On several screens in Bern station, Easter travelers could follow live how the queue of cars on the A2 before the Gotthard was getting longer and longer. At the same time, they could follow along with a funny Easter race on Instagram. Two young men made a bet to see who would be the first to order a pizza in a restaurant in Bellinzona. They started the journey to the south at the same time in Zurich Altstetten. One in the car and the other on the train. And as we all know, a lot of things happen on a trip like this: you get hungry, you have to go to the bathroom, or you want to stretch your legs. In running on Instagram uploaded short videos, the two protagonists reported on their experiences and misadventures on the journey south. And, of course, they also found out who reached the pizzeria first.
The Ciao Stau campaign was initiated by the SBB event team under the leadership of Fabian Strahm (SBB Marketing Communications Manager Holidays). As the official event partner of SBB, the Zurich communications agency Compresso developed and implemented the Easter traffic jam livecam idea and numerous other campaign elements. In addition to the screens, large floor stickers were used in Bern station to draw attention to the campaign. Promotional teams distributed around 10,000 packets of sweet rubber snakes to train passengers on Maundy Thursday: "prefer rubber snakes to car snakes"!

On three colorful poster sujets and in various moving image formats for DOOH, web and TV sponsoring, the Swiss online retailer Brack.ch shows that it also supplies the right product for people with great hobbies and passions. Whether for convinced BBQ chefs in impressive outdoor kitchens, obvious lovers of avocados or gamers who not only live for the latest trends on Twitch and Co. but have long since developed a soft spot for good old 8-bit retro classics: Brack.ch positions itself as a company that supplies the right products for very different people in Switzerland.
Together with the artist collective "Golden Retriever", three colorful and entertaining worlds were created under the direction of Zimmermann Communications and Compresso. The employees of the online store Brack.ch are enthusiastic and passionate about their job. The new campaign now aims to convey this message to customers. The idea: Brack not only delivers quickly and easily, but also strives for a relationship with its customers that focuses on their complete satisfaction. Thus, the dealer proposes within the Delivery campaign the next chapter.
Compresso and Zimmermann Communications have therefore designed three new spots that aim to show just that. In personal stories, viewers take a look behind the scenes of the Swiss online retailer. Whether in logistics or in the office - they are not only told that Brack delivers numerous products, but also who is responsible for the multiple customer service and delivery.

For three years now, Compresso has been supporting the Event Management group of the Events and Hospitality section of ETH Zurich with professional event and project management. In accordance with the rotation, the university has again advertised the mandate this spring on SIMAP, the information system on public procurement in Switzerland, as a pitch.
In a multi-stage evaluation process, Compresso was again able to prevail and thus takes over the role of a professional external event partner for ETH Zurich for another three years. Shortly after the contract was awarded, the Compresso team was already fully challenged with the organization of a major event.
On Friday, after a longer pandemic-related break, the "TogETHer"! could take place on the Hönggerberg campus. About 4'000 people participated in the traditional ETH staff party.
Compresso has further developed the party house concept adopted from the "TogETHer" event 2018 and loaded it with additional attractions. The campus was divided - analogous to a residential house - into individual rooms and zones such as kitchen, living room, children's room, hobby room, pergola, etc.. In each area, different attractions and food & beverage offers awaited the big and small guests.
The accompanying sound was provided by the Lucerne a cappella combo Vocabular, the band accoustic 4 and DJ Nameless. Presenter Rubina Meixger led through the program.
The overall management of the project on the part of ETH was in the hands of Thomas Meissner from the Services Section Events & Hospitality. Compresso organized the event as a full-service provider. Special attention was paid to waste avoidance and energy efficiency. All communication before and during the event was done electronically.
The Compresso team will support ETH to varying degrees at other important events in the coming months, including the Latsis Symposium, the RESC Symposium, the Radiocarbon & Archaeology Conference, ETH Week, and ETH Day.
