Born in Aargau, 47-year-old Cigdem Ruf graduated from the Ringer School of Journalism and completed a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Corporate Communications, as detailed in a press release. The communications specialist previously worked at the Civil Engineering Office of the City of Zurich, where she was Head of Communications. Before joining the City of Zurich, Ruf was deputy head of the communications department at the Canton of Zurich's Department of Construction for several years. In 2009, the construction department entrusted her with the project management for the overall organization of the celebrations surrounding the Zurich western bypass.

Schaerer und Partner employs a total of 18 people and is mainly active in the advertising, PR, communications and event sectors.
