With the claim "Celebrating Expectionality", the Dolder Grand is celebrating its 125th anniversary and also wants to manifest its role as a Swiss hotel icon. The campaign is intended to emphasize that the Dolder Grand is still a meeting place for international clientele who "appreciate the unique hospitality, the unique ambience and the unconventional in a special location", the hotel writes in a press release.

The Charles Blunier agency, which was already responsible for the rebranding of the hotel in 2019, has worked with the Dolder Grand's marketing department and General Manager Markus Granelli to develop a multi-faceted communication concept designed to attract attention from guests and within the industry.

The core of the communication strategy is an international OOH campaign that works with different wordings such as "Hollywood stars stay here", "Fashion designers stay here" or "Royals stay here". The layout is kept in a strict black and white typography and dispenses with both a motif and a logo or any other reference to the sender. Only a prominent QR code provides information about who is behind the campaign.

The aim of the campaign is to arouse the curiosity of viewers simply through the wordings and the otherwise anonymous design idea. The QR scan leads to the Dolder Grand website, which provides an insight into the "Guest Book", a tribute to forgotten moments and stories from the Belle Epoque to the 21st century.

Following the same idea as the OOH campaign, the subjects will be displayed in the form of print ads in well-known travel and lifestyle titles as well as online ads. The focus of the anniversary communication will include collaboration with the German-language edition of the Vogue. In addition to the traditional advertisements and online content, a joint event will be held in autumn 2024 to mark the anniversary. The campaign idea and additional content worlds will also be played out on social media to mark the 125th anniversary of the Zurich luxury resort.

With the concept store, the Italian luxury car manufacturer Ferrari creates a place of encounter, thereby combining the heritage of the brand with a modern and innovative interpretation.

The pop-up location at Uraniastrasse 18 combines a gallery space on the second floor with exclusive artworks by Silvie Fleury, George Condo, John Armleder and Blair Thurman. Spread over two floors, the pop-up concept store immerses customers in the unique world of Ferrari. On the first floor there is an Italian café during the day and a bar with aperitivo in the evening. In addition, Ferrari by B.I. Collection invites customers to enjoy and purchase an exquisite selection from Ferrari's current fashion collection as well as a carefully curated selection of accessories, books and magazines. The pop-up store restages the 360° world of Ferrari.

Charles Blunier has already been able to count the B.I Collection among its customer portfolio for four years and both can look back on a successful collaboration together. With the creative strategy and conception of the Ferrari Concept Pop-Up Store, Charles Blunier & Co. wants to set a milestone for the Ferrari brand.

Together with the team of Eggert & Friends, a modern interior was implemented in a very short time and celebrated with a brilliant opening. Since Friday, September 16, the pop-up location is open for walk-in customers as well as family and friends of Ferrari.

Digital campaign with photographer Edgar Berg

The entire communication and creative identity was also conceived and implemented by the design studio Charles Blunier & Co. For the campaign, Charles Blunier was able to win over photographer Edgar Berg and is using the expressive campaign to cover the city of Zurich with a digital campaign.

Charles Blunier says: "We are very proud to have been chosen by Ferrari to create this pilot project. To enjoy the trust of one of the biggest brands in the world is a great recognition to our way of thinking and holistic design approach."

Since summer 2019, Creative Director Charles Blunier's agency has been working on the extensive rebranding for the tradition-rich luxury hotel on Zurichberg. The future communication focus will be on the art, the design as well as the modern lifestyle of the hotel. "Our goal is to position the Dolder Grand as a premium lifestyle brand," says Charles Blunier.

A new, reduced color and visual language was created to give the brand identity a powerful expression and convey the Dolder Grand's attitude to life. Various partners were brought on board for the implementation, including the architectural and art photographers Hiepler, Brunier, the Bruce High Quality Foundation, and the artists and photographers Christopher Anderson, Chris Heads, Thanassis Krikis, and Cyrill Matter.

Mark Jacob, Managing Director of Dolder Hotel AG, explains: "By revising the visual identity, we are paying tribute to the origins of the Dolder Grand. In addition, we are setting a visible sign for successful further development."

So far, the logo, the typeface, the visual language and the design of all brochures have been newly realized. The rebranding will be completed in summer 2020. The website will then also be launched with the new look. Until then, an "interim solution" is active.

The new campaign for the Lucerne watch and jewelry group Bucherer 1888 shows an elaborately staged paper world that reflects the craftsmanship and high-quality precision work of the traditional Bucherer brand. For the subjects, which were produced with a great deal of love and dedication, Charles Blunier was able to bring on board the internationally renowned paper artist Julie Wilkinson from Makerie Studio in New York.

"For this campaign, it was important to us to portray the craftsmanship and attention to detail that characterize the Bucherer brand in a very special way. The cooperation with Makerie was perfect for this," says Charles Blunier. The well-known paper artist has already worked for brands such as Tiffany & Co, Hermès and Gucci. The Christmas campaign "Joy of Giving" has been live since November 16, 2018.

The bright motifs are primarily intended to appeal to young people with an affinity for art. The posters have been hanging around the Kunsthaus Zürich since the end of September. The campaign can also be seen on the museum's social media channels and in major Swiss daily and weekly newspapers.

The new campaign for the Kunsthaus Zürich is designed to appeal to people with an interest in art and generate new members: "We want to bring the art world closer to people again in a modern way and encourage them to buy an annual subscription. The eye-catching subjects combine pop art with intellectualism - a great contrast that reflects the Kunsthaus very well in 2018," says Creative Director Charles Blunier.

The campaign is intended to appeal to a young audience in particular. As a member, you become part of a community that can benefit from many services in addition to free admission to the museum."

Eine Legende erfindet sich neu https://www.markt-kom.com/en/markom/business/eine-legende-erfindet-sich-neu/ Thu, 01 Dec 2016 05:15:18 +0000 https://www.markt-kom.com/?p=82149 Gstaad_praegung_closeup-t

"If we want everything to stay the way it is, everything has to change". In 2016, the famous sentence from the novel "The Leopard" became the guiding principle for the legendary Gstaad Palace, whose guest list reads like a Who's Who of the international jet set. Hollywood stars such as Liz Taylor, Roger Moore and John Travolta regularly stay here, as do presidents and high-ranking personalities from the world of business.

The aim was to become more modern without losing any of this extraordinary, over 100-year-old splendor. The hotel's interior was redesigned and modernized, as was the hotel's complete brand design, for which the Zurich design agency Charles Blunier & Co. was responsible. "Such a legendary brand deserves the same high level of attention as its guests. After all, isn't it brand care that reflects a spirit of innovation?" says Charles Blunier.

In spring 2016, Blunier was commissioned to rebrand the Gstaad Palace. For this, the design agency conceived a common thread throughout the entire communication and designed, among other things, advertisements, brochures and cigarette cases. Finally, the website followed, which has been online since 01 December 2016 and combines both the heritage and the vision of the house in a contemporary way. "It was a challenge to make the appearance of the Gstaad Palace more modern without scratching the glamorous past," says Blunier. With great attention to detail, a unique new look was created.

"Last Paradise in a crazy world", is how Hollywood star Julie Andrews once described her vacation destination Gstaad. And sums up the secret of this beautiful place. The small village in Saanenland has always remained discreet and down-to-earth despite its worldwide fame. This unique atmosphere has been appreciated by the entire international jet set for decades. Stars such as Liz Taylor, Gunther Sachs, Madonna and the British royal family have been spending their vacations at the legendary Gstaad Palace for years.
