This is the result of the Business Reflector 2013 conducted by the market research institute GfK Switzerland, as reported by the Handelszeitung in its current issue according to Presseportal.ch. Lindt & Sprüngli defended its 3rd place in the national reputation study. Geberit came in 4th place from a standing start. Raiffeisenbank, Coop, Schindler and Swisscom also made it into the top 10. The two newcomers to the top ten are Rolex and Emmi. SBB, Swiss and the cantonal banks are no longer included.
Most companies have lost some of their luster in the last twelve months, but not significantly. There is a general downward trend in reputation among the companies evaluated this year, says Peter Meyer, Head of GfK Switzerland, commenting on the study. "The Swiss are therefore more critical of companies than in the previous year. Among the top 10, however, most only show a slight deviation." The top duel between Swatch and Migros is still a neck-and-neck race.
The GfK Business Reflector measures the image of leading Swiss companies every year. This year, 52 companies were analyzed for the reputation index. These include the most important sectors according to their gross value added, the largest non-listed employers and all 20 stocks in the Swiss Market Index SMI. The results are based on an online survey of over 3,500 people aged between 16 and 69 in January 2013.
