The new foundation will be called "Fundaziun Medias Rumantschas" (FMR), according to the concept announced on Thursday. The foundation is to set up a twelve-strong print editorial team and make the texts produced available free of charge, primarily to the Romansh newspapers. Essentially, the foundation will function like a news agency - free of charge, of course. However, the FMR is not only intended to promote the press, but the entire Romansh media landscape.
This currently consists of three newspapers, including the only daily newspaper, the La Quotidiana, and Rhaeto-Romanic Radio and Television RTR, which belongs to SRG. A collaboration between Fundaziun Medias Rumantschas and RTR is being considered, but the details are still unclear. In an extreme case, FMR could even be integrated into the Rhaeto-Romanic state broadcaster.
More money from the federal government and canton
FMR succeeds the existing Rhaeto-Romanic news agency Agentura da Novitads Rumantscha (ANR) and is also funded by the federal government and the canton of Graubünden. However, as the Fundaziun Medias Rumantschas is taking on "new and additional tasks" according to the concept, it should also receive more money. While the ANR currently receives CHF 1.2 million per year, the FMR will receive CHF 2.15 million. FMR will remain independent in business and editorial terms.
The concept was developed under the leadership of the Rhaeto-Romanic language organization Lia Rumantscha and is supported by all Rhaeto-Romanic media. It was discussed by those responsible with the Federal Office of Culture on Tuesday and will now be further elaborated. Ideally, the FMR could start producing texts in September 2019. (SDA)
The Chur-based agency Skipp has already been entrusted with Porsche's marketing for a year. With the latest campaign for the Porsche Macan, this collaboration has become even closer. Skipp can now call the Porsche Macan Turbo Performance its own fleet vehicle. Urs Zünd, head of the Porsche Center Maienfeld: "We have known Skipp CEO FiFi Frei for a long time as a Porsche enthusiast and have recognized that the close cooperation with him and his agency offers great potential for broader and more authentic marketing of the Porsche brand and the Macan model.
For Frei, this step is just as logical: "We now work with customers who have long-term, cooperative ties and carry their values into our everyday lives. A Porsche as a company car is undeniably a luxurious and rare situation, but the Macan Turbo Performance fits perfectly into our world both functionally and visually. The entire skipp crew is exceptionally pleased." The freshly branded Porsche from skipp has been driving on Swiss roads since this week. The Porsche Center Maienfeld invites you at any time to test drive the Porsche model, which combines sportiness, power and demands for space and comfort to create an SUV suitable for the Alps.
The first event in a new series, "Hochgenuss'17", took place on Monday, March 27 and Tuesday, March 28, 2017. Under the motto "Profiling through regionality", GastroSuisse invited gourmet ambassadors and gastronomy professionals to exchange ideas and learn more about Swiss gourmet worlds. At the Competence Center Culinary Heritage of the Alps in Stans, guests were offered an exciting mix of keynote speeches, presentations and workshops.
A good 20 industry giants, such as Andreas Djordjevic, bread sommelier at the Steirereck restaurant in Vienna, sensory expert Patrick Zbinden and Sven Wassmer, star chef at the 7132 Silver Restaurant in Vals, highlighted trends and provided new inspiration. Over 100 guests accepted the invitation.
The Chur agency Markenkern was able to support and implement the project from the very beginning. In order to do justice to the uniqueness of the event, unusual solutions were used from the outset. Thanks to a special folding and binding technique, the invitation mailing was both a booklet and a poster at the same time. A novelty, however, was the menu card for the dinner on Monday evening, which was developed together with production partner Kasimir Meyer. The menu card, designed as a set of postcards, consisted of 7 cards, one card for each course - and each set of postcards was unique. This was achieved by using different printing colors and different papers.

The Lia Rumantscha, the umbrella organization of the Rhaeto-Romanic language associations, has objected to the "Tagesschau" main edition on Wednesday evening. The program reported on Switzerland's quadrilingualism and multilingualism without mentioning Switzerland's fourth national language, Romansh, the association said on Thursday.
The Lia Rumantscha's complaint about the broadcast to the Ombudsman's Office of SRG German-speaking Switzerland is essentially based on the fact that the "Tagesschau" report did not meet the requirements of the Federal Law on Radio and Television. It also criticizes the failure to mention Romansh as a partial official language.
SRF said on Thursday that "Tagesschau" had singled out one aspect in its coverage of the Federal Statistical Office's language report, namely the shift in the main languages. In the case of Romansh, there had been no significant change between 1970 and 2014. For this reason, Romansh was not explicitly mentioned in the text and graph. According to SRF, this omission could have been briefly mentioned in the text. The complaint to the Ombudsman's Office of SRG German-speaking Switzerland is noted by SRF, it said. (SDA)
Since 2007, Graubünden Ferien (GRF) has been responsible for the management and further development of the Graubünden brand by means of a performance mandate. As part of a strategic reorientation, GRF will increasingly focus on its core tourism competence from 2017 onwards in order to achieve the turnaround in Graubünden tourism, according to the statement. As of Jan. 1, 2017, the management of the brand is therefore to be handed over to new hands. The canton as brand owner has now taken over the management of the "Graubünden Brand" office advertised in the cantonal gazette. This also represents a further step in the implementation of the "NaturMetropole" brand idea presented in 2013. Interested parties who meet the required suitability criteria according to the prequalification documents can participate in the tendering procedure.
