Today, Beiersdorf’s Swiss teams are moving into their new location in Zurich’s Seefeld district. This marks the completion of a process that was announced a year ago and has since been implemented step by step in collaboration with employees. As of today, all of Beiersdorf’s cosmetics brands in Switzerland are united under one roof.

Christian Haensch, Managing Director for Germany and Switzerland, is also on site for the move-in. Together with Heike Huber, Country Manager for Switzerland, he welcomes the employees to the new location. «Today is a special day,» says Christian Haensch. «We’re not only bringing teams closer together—we’re also growing even closer as a company.»

From Basel to Zurich

Until now, the La Prairie and Chantecaille brands were based in Zurich’s Seefeld district. Now, the teams from Nivea, Labello, Hansaplast, and Eucerin are also moving in. Ninety-five percent of the employees have decided to go along with the move and continue working for Beiersdorf at the new location. As announced, the Basel location has been closed.

This consolidation is part of the global «One Beiersdorf» vision. It is intended to strengthen collaboration across brands and open up new development opportunities. Structures, functions, and teams will remain unchanged.

Comprehensive support for employees

«From the very beginning, it has been our clear goal to bring as many employees as possible along on this journey,» says Heike Huber. However, Beiersdorf is also aware of the personal impact such a move can have on employees. «A relocation doesn’t just affect daily work life; it’s a major change in every employee’s personal life. For some, it means longer commutes—or even having to move to a new place.»

Beiersdorf therefore communicated the move well in advance and closely supported the process over the past twelve months. «It was important to us to find solutions tailored to our employees» different situations,« says Tobias Mangold, Head of Human Resources. »These include, among other things, financial contributions for moving and commuting, as well as individualized work schedule arrangements and flexible transitional arrangements.” Salaries were also adjusted to reflect the new location and increased accordingly for all employees.

A Shared Location Strengthens Collaboration

The Seefeld location in Zurich offers modern workspaces, a cafeteria, laboratories, and good access to public transportation.

Where individual brands previously operated separately, a shared work environment is now taking shape. This physical proximity facilitates cross-brand collaboration: employees can increasingly participate in projects across different brands, exchange experiences, and learn from one another. This injects new energy into day-to-day work and opens up additional opportunities for development—and brings the global «One Beiersdorf» vision to life in Switzerland as well.
