Leo Lüthy (60), editor-in-chief of Glückspost since 2016, has decided to step down from his post for private reasons at the end of March 2023, according to a press release. He looks back on a long and successful career in people journalism, during which he worked for the titles Blick, SonntagsBlick and TV Star, among others.
Alexander Theobald, CEO of Ringier Axel Springer Switzerland, is quoted as saying: "I would like to thank Leo Lüthy very much for his successful work. Since 1983, he has continuously worked for publications that belong to Ringier or today to Ringier Axel Springer Switzerland. A unique loyalty! Leo has continued to write the content and business success story of GlücksPost during his time as Editor-in-Chief. I wish him only the best for his future." Lüthy will continue to work for GlücksPost in the journalistic field after his resignation.
Dominik Hug (53) will be the new editor-in-chief from April 1. Hug is "one of Switzerland's most distinguished journalists in the show business" and has headed the People department of the Blick Group since 2010. He previously worked for two years as an editor in the entertainment department of the Bild newspaper in Berlin. Dominik Hug lived in the USA from 1996 to 2000, where he studied Media, Law & Ethics at the University of San Francisco. At the same time, he wrote as a freelancer for several Swiss titles, including the Berner Zeitung, Facts and Weltwoche. After returning to Switzerland, he was editor at the Berner Zeitung/Der Bund from 2000 to 2003, before joining Blick as deputy head of the People section from 2003 to 2006. From 2006 to 2008, he was head of the People department at SonntagsBlick.
Alexander Theobald: "I am delighted that Dominik Hug, a proven expert with international experience in the field of people journalism, is taking over as editor-in-chief of Glückspost. He is our preferred candidate to succeed Leo Lüthy."
